SOLUTION · PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Professional services firms, run on the same record from scoping to invoice.

Consultancies, accounting and advisory firms, engineering and architecture practices and other firms that sell expertise run on engagements, hours, judgment and trust. Voyager keeps the scope, the people, the time, the documents and the fees of each engagement on one record, and brings partners the decisions that need them.

The operating model

Scope creep shows up in the engagement before it becomes a write-off.

Change requests are recorded against the original scope, time entries reveal unrecorded work, and write-downs go to the partner with the reason attached.

01SCOPING AND ENGAGEMENT

The scope agreed with the client is the scope the team works to.

Proposals, engagement letters and statements of work carry their scope, assumptions, fee arrangement and approvals into the engagement. Change requests are recorded against the original scope, so scope creep is visible before it becomes a write-off.

  • Fixed-fee, hourly, retainer and milestone arrangements
  • Change requests against the agreed scope

02TIME, CAPACITY AND UTILIZATION

Hours, rates and capacity visible while there is still time to act.

Time and expenses are captured against engagements, reviewed and approved. Utilization, realization and remaining budget roll up by person, engagement, client and practice, and new work is checked against the capacity of the people who would do it.

03KNOWLEDGE AND CREDENTIALS

Templates, precedents and qualifications kept with the work.

Working papers, templates, prior client work and research live in Vault with permissions and versions. Professional credentials and continuing education are tracked by person, with renewals and assignment rules attached to the engagements that require them.

04CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Requests, documents and approvals through one portal.

Clients upload documents, answer questions, approve work and see status in a portal governed by the same permissions as the rest of the firm. Every exchange stays attached to the engagement.

05BILLING AND CASH

Invoices from the work, with the reason attached.

Invoices are prepared from time, milestones or retainers, with write-downs and write-offs routed for partner approval. Receivables and cash forecasts reflect the engagements that create them.

06GROWING THE FIRM

Turn repeated custom work into a service the firm can sell.

Business Development Intelligence compares repeated bespoke engagements, close rates, delivery hours and margins. When one kind of work keeps recurring profitably, Voyager can propose a standardized service with pricing, staffing and a launch plan, and later compare the results with the case the partners approved.
